Dear COG,
The crosswalk project for 6500 Monterey Road had my emotional support even though I didn't
make it to the meeting for it, as I had fallen down badly from my bicycle 3 years ago in front
of the Gateway apartment building. Had there been a street traffic light system, I would not
have suffered the severe fall, by waiting for the car behind me to pass by, then noticing that
the car had turned into the residential area, and then one mistake after another, I sped up my
bicycle too early to have run and crashed into the traffic island in the middle of the road and
caused a severe concussion for being unconscious for more than 20 seconds. So far there have
been a couple of bad accidents around there. Recently, one of the residents was hit by a car
also in front of the apartment.
In addition to the crosswalk, a pedestrian walk way on the east side of Monterey road from the
apartment to 10th Street is also appreciated.
