I'm hoping that some activities are considered, for at least the month of August. Years ago, local elementary schools were open a few days a week during summer break low cost activities were offered arts and crafts, play acting, sports. Younger children would participate, the program was conducted by older teens. Not only did our youth stay engaged in a safe environment but, the older teens learned working skills and gained volunteer credits. I'm, also, hoping that you'll consider subsidizing the difference in lunch cost from $3 to $5 for our seniors at the Senior Center. The $2 additional cost may not seem much to us but, for most of our seniors it may mean the difference of not participating because of economic hardship. Many of these folks will stop attending, limiting their social interaction that can lead to isolation and can have an affect on their mental and physical health. Thank you for your consideration.
